Job purpose:

  • Support USV India business in driving strategic BD&L projects in line with the growth aspirations, particularly in the area of Portfolio augmentation
  • Ensure all projects/strategic initiatives/deal proposals have a full business rationale and financial evaluation supporting them with a clear statement on risk management.
  • Position USV as the partner of choice in the market

Major accountability:

  1. Drive Therapy / Disease strategy / Gap analysis - Working closely with the Business and Medical / Scientific team in driving workshops.
  2. Identification / Landscaping of Opportunities
  3. Building next 5 year pipeline across category - Rx / Consumer health / NDDS / New technologies
  4. Identify the source of launch with a clearly defined strategy i.e either TPM / In house / Licensing
  5. Work with all cross-functional teams to ensure on-time new product launch
  6. Identify novel products that enhance therapy area and overall USV strength.
  7. Work closely with all relevant stakeholders in driving deals. Carry out financial sense checks for in-licensing candidates to set deal terms and run the negotiation process and execute deals for pre-identified candidates.
  8. Develop new partnership engagement [Lead generation]
  9. Alliance management - Convince potential licensees in the country of the merits of partnership with USV.
  10. Develop a monitoring system for existing deals with KPIs to measure execution performance
  11. Ensure that the partner’s business performance is in line with the agreement
  12. Influence partners' commercial teams to drive business to its true potential.
  13. Life cycle management of core brands
  14. Working closely with business is on Forecast / Business Plans.
